Derek is a public affairs and digital communications expert 20 years of experience, including working on four U.S. Presidential Campaigns. Derek began working for the Iowa Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign in 2006 as a door-to-door canvasser. He was later elected as Chair in 2017, becoming the youngest elected Iowa Democratic Party State Chair in history. Eadon worked for the Barack Obama campaign from 2007-2012, and served as General Election Director for President Obama's campaign in Iowa in 2012. Derek Eadon began consulting in 2013. His clients have included: trade associations, political campaigns, labor unions, non-profits, comedy festivals, advocacy organizations, renewable energy firms, and Fortune 500 companies. Eadon served as Deputy Campaign Manager for Julián Castro's 2020 presidential campaign, in addition to working on Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign and Bernie Sanders' 2020 campaign. Eadon also worked for Small Axe Communications in London. Derek lives in West Des Moines with his wife, two children, and an English Bulldog

ABOUT US
Derek Eadon is a veteran Democratic strategist and organizer. Derek specializes in working on high-profile campaigns and initiatives. He has worked on the Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Julián Castro, and Bernie Sanders Presidential Campaigns. He began his career as a door-to-door canvasser and organizer for the Iowa Democratic Party (IDP). Eleven years after working as a door-to-door canvasser for the IDP, in 2017, he became the youngest State Democratic Chair Iowa Democrats ever elected and served as a member of the DNC. He also served as Midwest director for Ready for Hillary and Run for Something. He has worked with 42 winning campaigns in over 20 states.
Eadon previously owned Bluprint Strategies, a general consulting and digital firm, from 2013-2017. During this time, Derek also worked with the DC-based firm STG. Before shutting down Bluprint to become party chair, Bluprint’s clients included: NextGen Climate Action, America’s Renewable Future, the Climate Action Campaign, Make it Work, Every Child Matters. Bluprint also provided digital services for Jimmy Hoffa for Teamster’s President, the Truth Initiative, the National Attorney’s General Association, and 15 different Congressional, Gubernatorial, and local campaigns.

Derek lives in West Des Moines with his wife and two children. He was born in Elmhurst, IL, and attended the University of Iowa. He enjoys playing music and hiking with his kids. He is a diehard Chicago sports fan.
