Derek Eadon

 

Derek began Sunbird Strategies in 2020 after years of working on campaigns and consulting. He has worked on winning campaigns in 14 different states. 

Derek owned and operated Bluprint Strategies, a general consulting and digital firm, from 2013-2017. Digital clients included: NexGen Climate Action, Jimmy Hoffa for Teamsters President, Make It Work, four congressional campaigns, two gubernatorial campaigns, and countless local races. 

Derek closed Bluprint Strategies in 2017 to run for Iowa Democratic Party Chair. He won in an upset and became the youngest ever elected IDP Chair. After his term, he worked for Run for Something and Julián Castro's presidential campaign. 

Derek began his career as an organizer for the Obama campaign and Iowa Democratic Party. He became active in politics after a friend died in the Iraq War and has become a public advocate for Medicare for All.

He currently lives in West Des Moines, IA with his wife and two children.
